Kennedy Yanko designed this Artycapucines MM handbag, a stunning translation in rich calfskin leather of the artist’s trademark metal and “paint skin” sculptures. The bag is 3D printed with signature rust- and wear-like effects; a patina then fixes the material’s dramatic ripples and folds, along with touches of gold pigment. The flap’s striking drape is obtained by scanning real crumpled metal sheets then reproduced on leather. The rusty style of this piece is highlighted by the deliberate aged finish given to the metallic pieces of the bag. This exceptional piece proves versatile too, thanks to its removable leather handle that transforms the bag into a clutch.
